Position start date is August 1, 2008. School of Arts and Sciences: · Music The Mount Olive College Music Department invites applications for a full-time Teacher of Music. Teaching duties will include private and class voice and other voice-related courses, music appreciation, and other courses within the individual’s fields of expertise. Piano accompaniment skills a plus. The successful candidate will be at home in a Christian Liberal Arts setting, and be capable as a teacher and performer of a variety of performance styles, not limited solely to art music. Other duties include participation in student recruitment efforts, developing relationships with music educators, and involvement in departmental and college committees. A completed doctorate is required. · Biology/Cell Biology Mount Olive College is offering a Faculty Position in Biology, with a preferred specialization in Biochemistry/Cell Biology. Candidates must have a PhD in Biological Sciences. The research specialty is open but the candidate should be capable of teaching a variety of undergraduate courses like Biochemistry, Ecology, Vertebrate Zoology, Plant Structure and Diversity, and other courses that the Department may need covered. A significant contractual requirement of this position is the direction and development of on-campus summer research and education programs to take advantage of the laboratory instrumentation resources now available. Experience securing external research funding is a plus. Assistant Director of the Career Center
Mount Olive College is looking for an Assistant Director for their Career Center. The Asst. Director is responsible for providing services through counseling, career planning, programming, job search assistance, resource development, and campus outreach and will oversee the office in the absence of the Director. Qualifications include: A minimum of two years professional experience in career services, preferably in a college or university setting. Be proficient with PC and related hardware/software to include web page maintenance and development. Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred in counseling, college student personnel, or career development or a combination of comparable experience and education.
